Plantronics Partners with Nextel to Launch the MX153 Boom Headset with Direct Connect® Button

Nextel-exclusive headset offers a flexible fit and superior sound quality.

CTIA, New Orleans - March 15, 2005 - Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE: PLT) today announced the up coming launch of a new headset built in partnership with Nextel Communications. The Plantronics MX153 Boom Headset with Direct Connect Button will help Nextel customers get business “done” while on the go.

This new headset features a Flex Grip® design for an exceptionally stable, comfortable fit and allows for one-handed placement in the ear. The noise-canceling microphone reduces background noise and allows you to be heard clearly in almost any environment. The pivoting, bendable boom provides optimal microphone positioning. The MX153 Boom Headset includes an inline button for Nextel customers to conveniently access Nextel’s popular Direct Connect coast-to-coast walkie-talkie service.

The Plantronics MX153 Boom Headset with Direct Connect Button will be available exclusively through all Nextel sales channels including Direct Sale Representatives, Nextel Authorized Representatives, www.nextel.com/accessories, Service and Repair Centers, at over 800 Nextel Retail stores nationwide and by calling Telesales Centers at 1-888-NEXTEL6. This Nextel exclusive headset is compatible with most current Motorola® phones available from Nextel.
