Plantronics Introduces Fashionable, Compact Bluetooth® Headset With Innovative, Industry-First Charging System

Additional Bluetooth Headset Offers Value and Convenience For First-Time Bluetooth Consumer

CeBIT, Hanover - March 10, 2005 - Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE: PLT) today introduced two new Bluetooth enabled headsets. A premium discreet headset, code named Tahiti, features a unique stylish design with innovative charging system and weighs less than 9 grams, about the weight of two nickels. The other, an easy-to-use headset, code named Tonga, delivers convenience and comfort for entry-level Bluetooth cell phone users.

Small and stylish, Tahiti is designed with high-end materials and finishes for the fashionable, style-conscious Bluetooth enthusiast. User-friendly and convenient for traveling, the headset comes in a 3 x 6 inch brushed aluminum carrying case. Tahiti includes an innovative AAA battery charger that continuously recharges the headset while not in use, for 25 hours of talk time – an industry first.

In addition to its own charger, Tahiti also comes with four very small adapters that connect to the most popular Bluetooth phones so only one charger is needed on the road. Tahiti has a convenient pen clip carrier that vibrates with incoming calls and can be discreetly worn on a shirt or suit-coat pocket. The headset features three different-sized, soft-gel ear tips for a comfortable, personalized fit. Tahiti will be available in the fall.

An affordable headset for new purchasers of Bluetooth cell phones and devices, Tonga features 9 hours of talk time and an intuitive, easy-to-use control to answer/end calls and adjust volume. Tonga will be available in the summer.

“Plantronics now offers the market’s most versatile range of Bluetooth headsets for business professionals and consumers,” said Mark Breier, chief marketing officer for Plantronics. “Tahiti and Tonga join Plantronics Voyager™ 510S, the Bluetooth headset system that seamlessly switches between a Bluetooth cell phone and standard office phone, to bring fashionable and easy-to-use wireless headsets to the home and office, in the car and on the go.”

Both headsets will be showcased in the U.S. at CTIA, New Orleans, March 14-16, 2005, Booth#5633.
