Plantronics Announces World’s First VoIP-Optimized Bluetooth® Headset System and New Wireless Headset system Developed for Office and Contact Centers
On October 1, Plantronics Japan will release the Plantronics Voyager™ 510-USB, the world’s first Bluetooth® headset system optimized for Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) *1, and the SupraPlus Wireless 2.4GHz Professional Headset System, a wireless headset system developed for use in office and contact centers.
Sales will be conducted through authorized Plantronics Japan resellers. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (not including tax) is 19,800 yen for the Plantronics Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth Headset System and 38,000 yen for the SupraPlus Wireless Professional Headset System.
Plantronics Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth® Headset System
The Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth Headset System is the first system that brings Bluetooth connectivity to enterprise class softphones. The system integrates with enterprise softphone software from leading companies including Avaya, Cisco, and Nortel to offer call notification and remote call answering via the headset. The Plantronics Voyager 510-USB is also compatible with most popular consumer Internet telephony services including Skype, AOL, MSN, and Yahoo.
The Plantronics Voyager 510-USB includes a plug-and-play Bluetooth USB adapter that eliminates cumbersome software setup processes and enables mobile professionals to place hands-free calls through any VoIP service. Additionally, Voyager 510-USB features multipoint technology to allow users to switch between multiple Bluetooth enabled devices, including softphones and mobile phones, with the touch of a button.
An extension of Plantronics’ VoIP product portfolio, the Plantronics Voyager 510-USB includes the highly comfortable and functional Plantronics Voyager 510*2 headset designed for mobile professionals, a USB Bluetooth adapter and Plantronics’ PerSonoCall™ Software, that provides electronics answer-end control with major soft phones. The system also comes standard with a convenient desktop charging stand, USB charging cable, USB extension cable, and AC charger.
Plantronics SupraPlus™ Wireless 2.4GHz Professional Headset System (CS355N)
Based on Plantronics’ leading SupraPlus corded headset, the new SupraPlus Wireless System is aligned particularly the needs of contact center supervisors, IT helpdesk professionals, and other users that spend considerable time on the phone. The SupraPlus Wireless System allows these users to “cut the cord” on existing headsets to provide greater flexibility during their workday. The SupraPlus Wireless provides up to 12 hours of talk time and provides best-in-class audio quality and digital security as a headset. With these features SupraPlus Wireless allows various working styles.

The Plantronics Voyager 510-USB Bluetooth Headset System and SupraPlus Wireless Professional 2.4GHz Headset System will be on display at IT Business Selection 2006 (sponsored by SunTelephone Co., Ltd. http://www.suntel.co.jp/itbs2006/) to be held on September 13-14, 2006 (Wednesday and Thursday) at the Prism Hall in Tokyo Dome City. In addition to placing its products on display in the venue’s central Communication Zone, Plantronics will also hold a workshop seminar in Seminar Venue C on September 13 from 11:40AM to introduce headset solutions based on its new products.
