Plantronics’ New Retractable Headset Offers Clearer Sound in Windy Environments
MX300’s Unique Cord Management and Wind Noise Reduction Technology Provide Convenient Hands-free Communications for Active Users
SANTA CRUZ, CA. - September 8, 2004 – Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE: PLT), the leader in communications headsets, introduced today the MX300 headset with new retractable cord and patent-pending wind noise reduction technology. The product builds on Plantronics Flex Grip® design to provide an exceptionally comfortable, stable, yet discreet fit, making it an ideal headset for active mobile phone users.
The MX300’s unique RetractPro™ automatic cord winder eliminates tangled cords and increases mobility by allowing users to easily extend the cord when the headset is needed, or retract it with the touch of a button. Users can also answer or end calls by simply pressing a button located on the compact cord winder .
The MX300 incorporates Plantronics’ patent-pending WindSmart™ technology and delivers superior sound quality in windy environments — in the car or on the street. WindSmart™ technology uses a specially designed material over the microphone that diffuses wind noise for crisp, clear conversations so users can be heard clearly.
“People who are on the go don’t want to be hassled by tangled cords and poor sound quality when they are on the phone,” said Lori Langona, product marketing manager, Plantronics. “Through a deep understanding of what consumers need and want, we’ve identified and solved some common problems through the innovative use of materials and design. The MX300 is a testament to our market knowledge, providing consumers with a product that delivers superior sound quality, greater freedom and extended comfort.”
