New Plantronics Headsets for Xbox 360 and Xbox Systems Give Gamers an Edge

Cool Designs, Killer Audio Performance Help Gamers Dominate Online

Santa Cruz, Calif.– March 28, 2006 – Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE: PLT) today unveiled three new gaming headsets for the Xbox 360 and Xbox video game and entertainment systems.  Headlined by the GameCom™ X30 and GameCom X20, the headsets feature hot new designs, wearing styles and crystal-clear audio.   From fourth-quarter playoff drives to intense shooter fests, gamers using the Xbox Live online game service can now shift their sessions into overdrive.

“I’ve been looking for a single-ear headset for the Xbox 360 — something that would be comfortable for several hours of online play with friends and during competitions,” said Ashley Jenkins (Jinx) of the Frag Dolls, a group of girl gamers.  “The moment I tried on the X30 I knew I’d found what I was looking for.  It has a sexy design and is ideal for both comfort and quality.”

The GameCom X30 and GameCom X20 reflect the colors of the Xbox 360 system and incorporate single-ear designs that allow gamers to be fully engaged in online battles while talking offline with others in the room.   Both headsets are lightweight and discreet, and boast flexible, ear-melding designs that provide comfort for all-night gaming.   The new GameCom X10 uses an over-the-head style and traditional colors of the Xbox system.  All three headsets feature noise-canceling mics to reduce background noise and ensure friends or foes on the other end hear every word.  The headsets also feature inline volume and mute controls for easy access.

“Gamers have told us that they want discreet headsets that provide precise voice without overpowering the actual game audio,” said Renee Niemi, vice president of Mobile and Entertainment at Plantronics.  “The new GameCom headsets deliver on this and, equally important, give gamers a choice when it comes to headset wearing styles, color schemes and price.”

The GameCom X30 and X10 have estimated street prices of US $29.99 and $19.99, respectively.   Both products will be available this month in retail stores, including Best Buy, GameStop and Target, as well as at www.plantronics.com.  The GameCom X20 has an estimated street price of US $19.99 and will be available in July.
