New VistaPlus™ DM15 to offer enhanced protection for Contact Centre staff

CeBIT, Hanover - March 10th, 2005 - A new adapter, specifically designed to help contact centres and offices alike to comply with the forthcoming noise at work legislation1, is being launched by Plantronics at this year’s CeBIT - more than ten months ahead of the expected implementation of the new Physical Agents Noise Directive in early 2006.

The company’s VistaPlus™ DM15 adapter uses Plantronics’ exclusive SoundGuard® DIGITAL technology to provide two types of protection for contact centre workers. Firstly, it monitors and predicts daily noise exposure, automatically adjusting the volume to ensure audio levels specified by the new legislation1 are not exceeded. Secondly, the product detects sudden loud noises such as network interference, fax machine tones or even a whistle blow down the telephone line and reduces them instantly to a level similar to ordinary background noise.

At the same time, the VistaPlus™ DM15 delivers crystal clear, crisp sound quality due to Plantronics Call Clarity™ DIGITAL technology which also ensures a consistent and comfortable sound level regardless of the loudness of the incoming call.

The adapter, which follows the best-selling Vista™ M12, is compatible with the majority of phone systems and is guaranteed to work with all Plantronics contact centre and office headsets. Pricing is to be confirmed and It is expected to be in the region of €150 (ex VAT) when it goes on sale from the summer months.

“With the VistaPlus™ DM15 we are building on the success of its predecessor - one of the most popular and trusted amplifiers in the market - while at the same time addressing the industry’s key concerns around the change in law and acoustic protection of their staff,” comments Neil Salton, Plantronics EMEA Marketing Manager.
