New Plantronics Bluetooth Headset delivers breakthrough sound quality on both ends of the conversation

Audio IQ and DSP technologies increase clarity and reduce background sound in noisy environments

Swindon, UK. - Plantronics, the world leader in lightweight communications headsets, is today confirming the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) availability of the M3500, the Bluetooth™ headset designed specifically to deliver superior audio quality in noisy environments.

The M3500 builds on the platform of Plantronics award winning M3000 Bluetooth™ headset, integrating Plantronics’ Audio IQTM technology with a built-in digital signal processor (DSP). The Audio IQTM software enhances the functionality of the M3500 to deliver intelligent audio, resulting in exceptionally clear voice reception.

The M3500 gives the freedom to communicate clearly in noisy environments, with the Audio IQTM software automatically analysing the incoming voice signal and raising the softer portions of the signal without causing distortion, making it easier to clearly hear and understand the person on the other side of the call. For the person receiving a call from an M3500 user, background noise is dramatically reduced by the noise-cancelling microphone working in conjunction with the DSP, so the voice is transmitted clearly.

Small and light, the design of the M3500 is the perfect blend of functionality, style and comfort. In addition to the audio enhancements, the M3500 features are intuitive to use; the one-touch answer/end button allows calls to be made and taken easily, the voice dialing function on mobile phones is supported allowing voice commands to be utilized and providing quality hands free communication.

Providing up to 3.5 hours of talk time and up to 76 hours of standby time, the M3500 is perfect for quality communication on the move. The M3500 includes a user-replaceable battery, two earloops (medium and large), an AC adapter, as well as accessories previously only available separately: a lighter adapter for in-car charging and a sleek carrying pouch.

“The M3500 extends our range of Bluetooth headsets, providing features that our users tell us they want and value. The elimination of background noise in very noisy environments is high on the list of priorities for enhanced clear communication and by introducing Audio IQ technology into the M3500 we have a solution to noisy, real-life scenarios.” Comments Kevin Carey EMEA Mobile Marketing Manager

The M3500 works with Bluetooth devices that support the headset or hands-free profiles, including mobile phones, computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs), smartphones and automotive telematics.

The Plantronics M3500 will be available worldwide from June 2004. The M3500 will have an MSRP of £99.99 / €149.95 and includes a 2 year warranty with Plantronics’ world-class service and support.
