Company firsts to bring wireless freedom to all Bluetooth�� users
CeBIT, Hanover - March 10th 2005 – At CeBIT 2005, Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE: PLT) is introducing a total of four new Bluetooth-enabled products including the company’s first Bluetooth speakerphone as well as the market’s most versatile Bluetooth headset to date. Aimed at business professionals and consumers alike, all products build on Plantronics’ knowledge and cutting edge technology to provide users with unrivalled audio quality and stylishly designed solutions.
- Versatility
The award-winning multipoint Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset system enables users to seamlessly switch between two Bluetooth-enabled devices, such as a mobile phone, office phone, laptop etc. Mobile professionals will have one easy-to-use wireless headset to communicate throughout their day wherever they are – in the office, on the road or on the go.
Lightweight (15grams) and ergonomically designed for maximum comfort, the Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset offers up to 6 hours talk time or 100 hours stand-by time and features a noise cancelling microphone for outstanding audio quality. The headset will be available as a standalone device or the complete system including a docking station to upgrade existing office phones to be Bluetooth compatible. The full system is available in a number of options and is priced in the region of €250 (exc. VAT) while the headset alone is priced at €79 (inc. VAT). The headset will be available from spring and the system will be available from the summer this year.
- Affordability
Plantronics latest entry level Bluetooth headset, code name Tonga, is stylishly designed and easy to use whilst delivering all the advantages of a Bluetooth headset, such as increased mobility at an affordable price of €49 (inc. VAT). Featuring up to 10 hours talk time and 240 hours of standby time and an intuitive joystick control to answer and finish calls, this headset will be available in the summer months.
- Desirability
Weighing less than 10 grams and being one of the smallest Bluetooth headsets on the market, Plantronics’ premium Bluetooth headset, code name Tahiti, is aimed at style-conscious consumers. Using high-end materials and finishes and featuring an innovative cradle charging solution that gives up to 25 hours talk time and includes an incoming call vibrate alert and triple A top-up charger. It is based on Bluetooth version 1.2 software and includes multipoint connectivity for seamless switching between mobile devices. Prices have yet to be confirmed but it will be available from early autumn 2005.

- Innovation
Plantronics first Bluetooth personal speakerphone, code name Myna, will be available this summer and offers up to 5 hours of talk time and 120 hours of stand by time. With best in class audio performance, the speakerphone will provide the audio power needed for use in the car. The design includes a suite of active noise reduction and adaptive echo cancellation technology - ensuring both sides of the conversation are heard loud and clear, no matter what the surroundings.
The breakthrough design is lightweight and ultra portable to allow a hands-free conversation wherever and whenever it is convenient. The personal speaker phone can be used clipped onto a car sun visor, set on a desktop, or placed in a hotel room. For added privacy, a Plantronics corded headset can be plugged into the headset jack.
Automatically synchronizing with a mobile phonebook and featuring speaker independent voice dialing in seven languages, the personal speakerphone will be priced at around €130 (inc. VAT)
